Tim and Helen Manson are a New Zealand couple living and working in Uganda with their three young children - Hope, 3.5 Eva,2 and Maz, 8 months. Tim is the Country Director for Tutapona - an organisation that provides trauma counselling for victims of war and refugees. Helen is a humanitarian photographer and storyteller contracting to a number of different local and international non profits for their photography and storytelling needs. She counts it a humble privilege to come alongside organisations like Tearfund, Compassion International, USAID and the International Justice Mission to help tell their incredible stories.
Although both were born in New Zealand, Tim spent the first part of his life living as a missionary kid in the Ivory Coast, West Africa and Helen in California and Sydney as a pastors kid. They both came back to New Zealand when they were around 15 years old and met through mutual friends. They married in 2007 and moved to Dubai in 2009. In mid 2010 they made their very first 5 month trip to Uganda and fell in love with the country and her people. They vowed to come back and have been living in Kampala, Uganda ever since January 2014.
